Individual Code (CD and DVD Printing)

Technical Possibilities of Individual Codes

Placing and shape of the printing panel.
It is possible to print the code on the CD and DVD only once - with a coherent printing panel (hereinafter as PP).
The PP can be placed anywhere on the CD and DVD label print area in consideration of printing suggestion.
The width is 24 points (approx. 9 mm), length is limited by the actual placement on a CD and DVD, with a max. of approx. 100 mm

Placing and shape of the printing panel

  •  It is only possible to print the code on the CD once - with a coherent printing panel (hereinafter as TP)
  •  The TP can be placed anywhere on the CD in consideration of the CD printing suggestion.
  •  The width is 24 points (approx. 9 mm), length is bound by the actual placement on a CD, with a max. of approx. 100 mm

Due to printing on a moving subject the TP is not a perfect rectangle - it is a part of an annulus. The maximum deviation of printing directness is approx. 1.6 mm

Text

The following letter types can be used

Type Height
LATIN (Czech) 5, 7, 9, 11, 16, 24 points
CYRILLIC 5, 7, 9, 11, 16, 24 points
Polish signs 7, 11
LATIN 90° 5, 7, 11, 16

With the LATIN font size 9 the letter height is equal to size 7 points. The difference is that letters such as "j,g,p" overlap the bottom line.

With the LATIN 90° font the letters are turned by 90°

The number of lines on TP according to the size of fonts:

Size Lines 90°
5 1-4 1-4 letters next to each other
7 1-3 1-3 letters
9 1-2 1-3 letters
11 1-2 1-3 letters
16 1 2 letters
24 1 impossible

Graphics

At 24x1 raster it is possible to create any kind of motif up to 40 points according to the graphic resolution of 24x24 points per 1cm2. Production of a graphical motif is possible to achieve from a black and white picture after proper DTP processing or according to a supplied bitmap size 24xN points (black and white).

Variable:

  • Date and time
  • Exchange
  • Duration of guarantee
  • EAN code (for CDs we recommend only as a graphical symbol)
  • - 2 independent counters with adjusting
Beginning 000000000 002
End 999999999 020
Step 1-99 2
Amount 1-9999 3
Fill with zeros yes/no yes

An example of a number row: 002 002 004 004 006 006 006 008 008 008 010 010 010 etc.

All these components - text, graphics and variables can be freely combined inside TP.

Code printing through PC

Printing from a file is another possibility for printing individual codes. This is mainly used for a random sequencing of codes. A combination of these codes with other components (text, graphics, variables) is limited.

The code in this case is a sequence of letters (normal and capital), numbers, pauses and basic symbols (, ; + - / % = " ! ?), anything that allows transformation into the format- "text only".

A file containing codes must be in the format "text only", i.e. file.txt and it must not contain anything else but lines and codes. One line in the file = 1 code to send for printing. Single lines must be separated by pressing the ENTER key.

Any other kind of file is possible only after mutual agreement with the production department.

Bottom print of codes by scratch colour

Basically, any part of printed TP can be covered by a scratch colour. For details see scratch colour.
